The photo shoot lasted another four hours, with a break every hour, so Rory could ply them with food and water and Jacques could find another ridiculous prop for them to pose with. By the end of it, Danny had been splashed with water, coated with silly string, and had suggestively licked at a banana cream pie before smashing it in Ben's face, who was a better sport about the prospect than Sebastian. She was so done with this job that there weren't even words for it—or rather, there were a lot of them, but Lucy already thought Danny swore too much and she didn't want to go off in front of Natasha.

Speaking of, Natasha joined Danny at the end of the shoot as the other models were heading to the showers and handed her a bag. "Oh, honey, if I'd known everything that Jacques had in mind for this. He made a bunch of last-minute changes without saying anything at all. I wouldn't have pushed for you to work it. You okay?"

"I'm fine, and hey, it's a decent paycheck," Danny said with a little shrug. From where she was sitting at the bar, Lucy smiled very faintly. Yeah, fine, she could be smug over Danny's much-improved mood, whatever. Danny resisted the urge to stick her tongue out and hoisted up the bag instead. "What's in here?"

"A little bonus for you, honey. They're last year's stock, but they're still beautiful, and you deserve a present after this. Plus, they're maybe a little more your style than the outfit you showed up in."

Lucy's smile had been replaced with a frown. "Natasha…"

"It's not improper, I swear!" Natasha said, holding up her hands. "You know I'm not hitting on your girl, Lucy, I wouldn't do that."

"It's not the propriety, it's the price."

"I'm allowed to do whatever I want with my own stock, and I want to give these little things away. You'll thank me," Natasha added gleefully. "Now, I've gotta run, ladies. Lillian's been home simmering for long enough; I need to take her off the heat." She walked back over to the bar and grabbed up her satchel, exchanged a little cheek kiss with Lucy, and left.

Danny was intensely curious about what was in the bag, but she was trying to turn over a new leaf with Lucy. "I won't accept it if you don't want me to. I mean, I don't want people giving you gifts—I should hold myself to the same standard, right?"

"I don't mind it if it comes from Natasha," Lucy said pensively. "I've simply been outplayed. Lillian's going to be getting a large package of her favorite tea in the near future. Now, go clean up and change and we'll figure out what to do with the rest of our day."

Most of the day was over at this point, but Danny liked the sound of that. "I won't be long."

"Don't hurry on my account. I'd rather have you thoroughly clean rather than smelling of banana cream." Danny nodded
